iTunes Internet (Radio) not working

It always works. This morning it's not. I've restarted computer. Restarted the wireless. All other internet is working fine, i.e, iTunes store, gmail, espn, etc.

This is what happens when I click on a specific genre:

"An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later."

There's been several comments along these lines the past couple of days. Few people say which version of iTunes they are using. If you are using the neswest version then probably Apple is doing something to their station server. They never comment about this kind of thing and usually it's simply a matter of waiting and suddenly one day things work again. If you are using an older version of iTunes it is possible they have updated things to only work with newer iTunes versions.

Hello GT349 (and anybody else suffering from this issue).

I found the link you gave in your reply (Apr 5, 2014 10.54pm) to be an easy and successful work around. I have downloaded some classic rock links into iTunes and they play really well.

I was also able to recover an old favourite of mine (BBC Radio 4 - talk radio) which I have not been able to listen to since the BBC upgraded there iRadioPlayer to use a higher level of Flash than my old iMac (PPC) can handle. I have to listen to it via Safari and VLC Media Player as it is a WMA 48k format. It does break up sometimes but on the whole it is good.

Thanks again and kind regards,

Bob Sutton (from the UK).
