Can I charge my IOS 7 in my car 12 volt cigarette lighter?
I don't want to take a chance damaging my iphone. Can I charge it in my car 12 volt cigarette lighter with the cord that is 10 volts?

Use your original cable, yes, you can charge this way.
Your cars electrical system is 12 volts but the plug in charger or the USB port in your car will not damage your iPhone.

USB is only 5 volts, not 10.
The adapter you put into the cigarette ligher converts 12 VDC to 5VDC USB.
Thanks. You're right! (you knew that)
My car is 2009. The cord I have is a Belkin, input 12V DC, output 5V/2.1 A.
So, just to be sure I'm understanding correctly, I can plug my IOS 7 into this cord/adapter and charge with no risk.
