Problem with in app purchase on garageband 10.0.2

Got in app purchase with newest (10.0.2) garageband. this message 'garageband was not able to complete the download. check your internet connection and try downloading again.' shows. I do not have an internet problem, i have streaming service such as sky and netflix which work fine, I have also downloaded iPhoto and iMovie. Anyone else seen this happen? Is it a know garageband problem and are there any fixes out there?

GarageBand (Mac) '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

The in-app purchase is several GB large, and you probably encountered a timeout because of too much traffic at the App Store. Sign into the App Store with your Apple ID and try the menu command "Store > Check for unfinished downloads".

it downloads, then when asked for my computer password, it will say 'intalling' for about 10 seconds then the above message comes through, doesnt show anything on the app store/check unfinished downloads
