"Return" key fell off...

Hey guys, I opened my mbp a few minutes ago and it seemed the "return" key has fell off. I tried searching for but couldnt get very good instructions on how to snap it back on. I don't live near and apple store and really dont want to have to ship it just for that. Can anyone help out? Is this an easy fix? The key seems to be just fine and so do the little metal "holders".

Thank you,
Topher

Hi Topher,

I didn't come across a thread where someone fixed their own dislocated keys. I think people are being cautious in case they break something.however there is something that might be relevant:

I would still recommend that you make a trip to an Apple store even if it not so close to you..The geniuses can fix the issue in minutes.

I just did a quick search on Apple and found that the Circuit City store and something called Computer Solutions, both in Shreveport, are authorized resellers. The first is at 7091 Youree Drive and the latter is at 2800 Youree Drive. I remember when contemplating bringing mine in to have someone look at the screen, going on the Apple site and finding authorized repair places, but for some reason, I can't get back to it today. I thought I began at the Support page but perhaps not. At any rate, if they can sell them, they can perhaps fix them or at least put the key back on. If you can't find something better that the two I found when searching the Apple site, call Apple and ask them who in your area is an authorized repair center. Hope that helps!

More specifically, here is how to replace a key on your keyboard. Although this illustration is for a PowerBook, the procedure is the same for the MacBook Pro. If the key is actually broken, take it to an Apple Store and they have spare key parts and can fix the problem on the spot.
