I am trying to connect my nokia phone 6670 to MAC OS X but the device is not detected.I tried using Isync but get cannot detect devic error.Do I need to Install any other software to make this work? For PC , Nokia PC Suite is needed,do we have a similar software for MAC.
Unfortunately Nokia doesn't do software for Mac OSX (or any Mac for that matter) so things like synching contacts etc. is just a no go.
If your Mac has bluetooth, you can transfer files (images, video, music) back and forth from your phone to Mac and vice versa, but that's about as far as it goes.
I did contact Nokia about this lack of Mac support, all I got was a standard email response saying they'd get back to me. Guess what? Still waiting :o)
If you have an Intel Mac and install Wind-ohs through boot camp, you can of course install Nokia PC Suite and connect your phone that way (well in theory) and get the full synching capabilities Nokia PC Suite offers.
Were you attempting to connect via Bluetooth or USB? If it was via USB, switch to Bluetooth. If you are having generalized issues with Bluetooth, you can get help here, in the
Other Bluetooth Devices forum:
Do you mean that no Nokia mobile is compatible via usb cable? I am having trouble with a Nokia 6111 and I can only use cable because my computer has no bluetooth. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Juliana
That's correct. The footnotes on the iSync Supported Devices page clearly state that supported Nokia, Panasonic, SONY Ericsson, Siemens and Sendo devices are only capable of synchronizing via Bluetooth. Most, but not all, Motorola mobile handsets can be synchronized using either Bluetooth or USB.
The only third-party USB Bluetooth adapter explicitly supported by Apple—including an ability to accept Apple-issued firmware updates—is the D-Link DBT-120. And among D-Link adapters,
only that one USB adapter is supported, no others. I don't know about availability in Brazil, but it is generally available from the Apple Store online, from Apple resellers and from many third-party resellers.
