When I plug the ear pod into my iphone and volume up I can't hear proper sound

EarPods not working perfectly.Recently I am facing the problem is that when i up the volume I can't hear the song properly but when the volume is less then half it's work perfectly but in one side

Can anyone help me.

Is this is the hardware problem or software cause when I upgrade to ios7.1 am facing this issue
