My battery just stopped working!!!!!!!

Was just using my Macbook and the screen just went blank I tried to turn it on and the screen would just flash once and would not turn on again, so I plugged it in to mains power and it would turn on again, the battery still appears as charging but when I unplug it from mains, it turns off again!!!!
Can anybody please shed some light on my dilemma?
My guess is that the battery has just died on me.........

Reseat the battery. Here's how.

Reset the MacBook's pmu. It tells you how here:

Have you ever calibrated your Battery ?

If not see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284

If you cannot calibrate call AppleCare, you may need a new battery.

Nah, I've done all those things, I just went down to my local apple centre and tried another battery, reset the PMU and it worked fine. Now just have to wait for Apple to send me another Battery. The battery must have shorted or something. Thanks for the reply though, its much appreciated!

It is ironic how the battery dies like that. Mine have just died exactly as described here, and it is a result of "calibrating" the battery, also exactly as described by the Apple website.

This makes me wonder what is wrong with the macbook PMU circuitry/battery management.

Hi, I thought I'd post here, because the exact same thing just happened to my MacBook: the battery died after trying to calibrate it. I let the battery power drain down comletely, then when I plugged it in, the battery isn't recognized and the little light on the plug is constantly green, but, there's no charge in the battery. When I press the little white button on the battery, one light blinks fast for about a second.
