bookmarks bar folders appear due to iCloud sync

At work I have a PC running Chrome, Firefox and IE. I have the bookmarks synced with Icloud using these.

When I open safari on my mac at home I have two folders called BookmarksBar and Bookmarks bar. I also have the the bookamrks in my bookmarks bar in my bookmarks menu. In safari the bookmarks bar is called the Favourites bar.

How can I rectify the issue? When I add bookmarks to one of the folders on the bookmarks bar, i want it to appear on the bar on all browsers.....

I did se to use xmarks...but I have since stopped using it.

is there a conflict as to what each browser recognises as the bookmarks bar?

Thanks
