can't open my mail
I was trying to delete messages last night from Trash & Junk. Went into Message Behaviors etc. to change some things. And now I can't even get my mail (gmail) or shut down my computer.

It sounds like your Mail app is unresponsive and preventing you from checking your set up mail account, and from shutting down the computer. I recommend force quitting the Mail application with this info, then restart your computer and try again:
- Switch to another app, such as the Finder, then choose Force Quit from the Apple menu. Select the unresponsive app in the Force Quit window, and click Force Quit.
- Press Command-Option-Esc, then select the unresponsive app from the Force Quit window that appears, and click Force Quit.
