I just recently got my rmbp and I love it, but i was wondering if the 20GB used already for audio/apps/other is meant to be like this? Is there anyway to reduce the stuff I don't need (garageband, etc.?)

Do not remove anything that came with the operating system (OS X), if you do not have a large enough drive for your needs use an external drive to house the excess.
Csound1 can't iLife apps be removed since they aren't a part of the OS? For example Garageband.
Good point, I have never tried to delete GB but it might be OK to do that, I'll let you talk the OP through the correct method to do so.
Thanks for the info. I am not really parsed for space, I was jw if this was normal and if I could snatch any extra storage space before I needed to look into ext. hdds 🙂
