Reformatted MBP Mid 2009 issues importing files

Hey guys.

I had to reformatt my MBP because Mavricks took a toll on my computer. It was just too much for it. Before reformatting I did a time machine backup PLUS completely copied my USER files onto my EHD. I am trying to import files, such as MAIL files. They import but when I go to them in MAIL there is nothing inside.

I am currently running 10.6.8

Can you help?
