Q: Can't update or open iPhoto after I changed my apple ID

Hi, I changed my apple ID username (i.e. email address) and can no longer open or update iPhoto on my mac. It's linked to my old user ID and won't let me change it even when I'm logged in with my new username in the app store. How do I work around this? Thanks.

iPhoto '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

    Content and Apple IDs -

    Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
