No matter what I do, in a subscribed calendar it doesn't let me change the location to "icloud" from "on my mac". I'm signed in to icloud and everything. Any ideas?

Delete the subscription from "On My Mac," and use iCloud to re-subscribe.
hi thanks for your reply. If i use icloud to resubscribe, it will let me create a calendar, but not enter any subscription link.

Are you adding the subscription by using Calendar>File>New Calendar Subscription...?
If i add it like the screenshot shown, it won't let me switch to "icloud" location when editing, if I add by File>New calendar>icloud, it won't let me add a subscription link.
