Trouble setting up cellular data account . . .

So I have an iPad 2 and was going to setup a cellular data account but when I get to the screen where you enter your personal data, I can type but the text won't fill in on the screen. I'm assuming I'm overlooking something simple but I don't know what it is. Anyone have an idea? I am using an iPad 2 with the latest version of iOS (7.1, I think).
