My iPod touch, 4th generation won't turn on.

I have tried using the on/off button. holding it down for ages, also trying the factory reset buttons. Nothing is working.
The computer doesn't recognise that anything is attached when you plug the device in. it's not the cord, we have tried it with other devices. We have tried charging it for ages and then trying to turn it on again. Nothing is working.
Is there anything else we can try?
The screen is not broken at all, and neither is the actual screen underneath the glass screen on top.

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
