My email accounts have disappeared although still present in settings. What to do?

Q: My email accounts seem to have disappeared although still present in settings. What to do?
If they still show in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then if you tap on the accounts to select them do they currently have Mail set 'on' for them ? If they do then try toggling that 'off', exit that screen, and then turn it back 'on'
