No sound after Ipad2 upgrade

When I upgraded my Ipad2 to iOS6, I lost the sound on the Ipad. there is no sound through the speakers EXCEPT the ringtones when I choose them in the settings menu, so the speaker appears to be working. There IS also sound throught the headphones, but not through bluetooth. I just did the iOS7.1 upgrade hoping it would fix it, but still no sound. And yes I know about the slider mute issue, Another odd thing is I don't get the Icon popping up when I try to change the volume level, but if I have headphones in, The headphone volume icon appears when I adjust the volume. I've tried all the reboots and resets short of dumping the whole I pad (Flappy Bird) It is not jailbroken . Any Suggestions?
