How should I find the serial number of my phone?

To find sn is simple, but useless.
It can be found here if you registered your phone with Apple.

You can call your carrier, get IMEI or MEID number and then by that number Apple will give you serial number.
You can also find list of backups on itunes by going to EDIT and then Preferences on Windows computer. When you hover over backup of that phone with your mouse cursor, you will see your SN.
And once again finding SN will not do anything for you.
