MainStage 3 occasional delay bug - HELP!

Hello Mainstage users!
I have been sing MS for several years with great success, but lately I have run into a problem:
Occasionally while my band is playing, out of the blue there is a delay in our playback (guessing 500ms).

I cannot locate why it happens, but restarting the pr0gram is a remedy as well as turning on or off any of the audio units in the AU manager (MS3 menu).
MIDI Panic has no effect and changing sample rates and buffer size doesn't help either.

The problem is it is an occasional thing - it happened 5 times during practice last night and a few times during a gig last week.

I restart my mac and clear the PRAM prior to the gig and practice but this doesn't resolve it either.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is Apple aware? I could not find it in any discussions so I am posting here in hopes of getting a solution.

I use a MacBookPro 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 with OS 10.9.2

Mainstage 3.0.3

Audio/MIDI interface via USB hookup: MOTU 828MK3 with a 8Pre via optical

Thank you to anyone willing to help!
