Can't delete photo. No 'trash icon'!

I know this sound boring, but yes I can NOT delete photo. ( Please don't tell me tap the photo then tap the 'Trash' icon, it doesn't have 'trash icon', ok? ).

Background:

I never like Apple product, I bought this cheap mini iPad for $25 from someone who didn't want it anymore and switched to Samsung Android.

Anyway, there are tonnes of photos ( some inappropriate photos ) of her that I wanted to delete, but I can NOT, yes I can NOT because there is no 'Trash' bin there.

And yes of course I can delete photos I have taken with this lousy iPad camera, but not her photos.

Though I fully doubt I could get the answer, for the last time before I throw away this so called Apple junk, can someone here show me how to delete those bloody photos, please?

And 🙂 I am pretty sure someone will come out saying oh for security reasons bla bla bla you can not delete those photos bla bla bla...

The reason you cannot delete those photos is because they were not taken with the iPad, they were synced to it using itunes on a computer. Unless you have access to the computer used for this, the only way you will get them off is to clear all contnet: Settings app > General > REset > Erase all Content and Settings. You probably should have done this to begin with.

No, sorry. Those photos were NOT synchronised to iPad, they were taken using the iPad itself by her.

There are 2 groups of photos:

- her photos, no 'Trash' icon

- my photos, yes 'Trash' icon

and the good news is both of us do NOT know how to synchronise iPad at all, so this iPad hasn't been synchronised.

I think I know why there is no "Trash' icon on her photos, it is because the iPad is no longer logged in using her Apple ID, correct me if I am wrong. I don't really care what make that, all I want is to delete all her photos cause some of them are not appropriate especially for my kid.

iPad has a very fuuny security way, it is so secured that I can NOT make it safe for kid.

Hi shldr2thewheel

Like I said I have been google-ing.

That is correct, and if you or the person you received it from had transferred it appropriately to begin with, you would not have this problem, a little research before action can save a lot of trouble.

Thanks James Ward4 and robdrage,

Will try that tomorrow after backing up all my data. And actually I don't even know how, when I connected my iPad to my PC using usb cable, nothing happened. Installed a gigabyte program so called iTunes, nothing happened either.

Instead of downloading data from iPad to PC, it is offering uploading data from PC to this stupid iPad instead.

Just how people who wants to get rid of iPad due to its' not so user-friendly will do Erase All Content & Settings, and just how a new iPad user like me will do that either? Amazing concept Apple has there.

As cheap as $25 it was, it is not worth the time, it is even worse of donating it away to school kids due to inappropriate photos which I can do nothing about till I would guess it's gonna take me another 6 hours tomorrow to back up and reset.

I have been using computers since the beginning of internet era, and using cellphone since 1G gsm, I've never seen such a stupid gadget as iPad. I guess I have to sell off my Apple share tomorrow, anyway my share it is just worth around $2500.

I also wish all iPad users will switch to a better other product to have a better and more productive life.

Ciao.

Great. I won't do that and what I can't erase is album art from the internet to put on music I transferred from Vinyl.

These pictures are nowhere on the computer. ( I mean nowhere ). What do I do. They are taking up room on my

iPad and I can't find a solution.
