Keep in mind no purchases made with your current Apple ID will be transferable to the new.

Be careful, if you create a new Apple ID instead of changing the existing one, anything you have purchased with the current ID is always associated to that ID and can never be transferred to a different ID.
It is best to change either your ID email or password on a current Apple ID, like if your email provider has changed.
