Screen still won't rotate on iPad

Screen won't rotate. The settings show it is unlocked & it's not set to the mute button.

Tried resetting iPad based on other threads & it still won't rotate. Any ideas? Thank you.

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1

If you do not see the padlock icon in the upper right corner, then the screen isn't locked. If the padlock icon is there, the screen is in fact locked. If you don't see the icon, and you have tried resetting the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, try resetting all settings.

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. No data will be lost but ALL device settings will have to be entered again and that does take some to time to do that again.

Thank you Demo. I do not see a padlock icon anywhere, so I can assume it's not locked. I did try resetting as you describe, & then even did a full reset of content & settings. I guess I can then assume it's an internal problem like maybe the sensor that detects the movements has failed?

Whatever you do Never Reset your ipad. It deletes much of your information. It is a huge issue to figure out what was deleted and how to fix that problem. Trust me. Never never RESET! I've done it once when it was suggested to me and refuse to ever do it again.
