iDVD 7.1.2 crashes - not compatible with Aperture movie database

Been using iDVD from iLife package for a few days. Worked fine until I decided to move all my movie camera clips into Aperture. This made iMovie (latest version for Mavericks) much slicker to use, but iDVD simply crashes after about 30 seconds.

Tried deleting Aperture movie collection, and iDVD is fine. Put the movies back into Aperture and iDVD crashes again.

There seems to be no way to stop iDVD from looking in the Aperture database. The preference pane for movie locations is blank. It says it always looks in Movoes folder, but insists in looking in Aperture.

Any way to stop this happening?

OK this seems to work - switched to a dummy library in Aperture when using iDVD. will switch back to main library in Aperture for iMovie.

Need to save the finalized imovie output in Finder folders along with any slide shows I guess.
