Help with mono

Hi guys,

I use logic pro x, and need to ecport files as mono...

For audio it all works fine, but for software instruments it doesnt..

I use the gain plugin an set it to mono... thats fine... but the problem is the file size doesnt change, I still end up with two similar channels... I only need one...

How can I export file so it is a mono file, with only one channel, and therefore half the file size??

The reason is I use alot of audio tracks and use them in mainstage, I need the files as small as possible...

Hope someone can help me here.

Put a Gain (on mono) on the SI track, and set your Output Channel Strip to dual mono. Then bounce either of the sides (they're identical) and you should get a mono file.

Click this button:

bounce either by clicking the Bnc button bottom of the channel strip.

Hi thanks alot for your answer...

since it is a SI i have a instrument in my input... in this case a ES2 for a synth bass... therefore I can not see the buttons you show me..

Any other ideas??

Or am I missing something?

Not on the SI track,but on the stereo Output channel strip.

Perfect, now I got it 🙂 thanks alot..

Only issue with this now, is that I now have to bounce each track individualy... is there a way I can do this with like 10 tracks at the same time... bounce them/export them simultaniously?

That would sertainly make my everyday life much easyer:)

I never export, but as far as I can see you can only choose between one at a time, or all tracks simultaneously - but not a group or selection. My first thought around that is to save your project under a different name (=make a copy), from that delete all tracks but the the ten you want to export, then use the export all tracks command.
