I have a 1TB seagate external hard drive and i just wondering if i can hook it up on my Sony Bravia tv to watch movies?

If your TV reads data from a USB stick it just might possibly read an external hard disk, but only it's formatted for Windows. Sony doesn't provide any compatibility for Macs.

You may prefer exFAT file system format, over any of the others, as it can handle individual files greater than 4GB and very large disks.
FAT32 can handle large disks, but no single file can be larger than 4GB, which can be an issue for some Movie files that can run multiple gigabytes.
FAT12 and FAT16 will not really handle a 1TB disk, so you should not even consider those file system formats.
Mac OS X in the later releases can create FAT32 (MS-DOS (FAT)) and exFAT (ExFAT) file systems on a disk via Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
