Do I need FCP X to use Motion 5?

I am trying to make a video with a moving green screen like the one seen here. I know I can do it using Motion, but do I need FCP X to use Motion? Can I just use Motion 5 to make my video?

I am an not a pro. I just make some home videos for friends and family occasionally. I have a 2009 MacBook Pro and I use iMovie for everything.
