What are the signs/symptoms of AirPort Express going bad?

All of a sudden I noticed that my iMac and MacBook Air aren't able to connect, and my printer can only connect via ip address...? Does this indicate that m AirPort Express is failing? Thanks for any input, Mike.

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Perform a factory default reset on the AirPort Express as follows:

Power off the Express for a minute

Hold in the reset button first and keep holding it for an additional 10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the power back into the Express

Release the reset button after the hold period, and allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light

Set up the Express again

If you try this a few times and the Express will not behave, it has failed, and will need to be replaced.

Thx for your reply, Bob... I tried factory reset a few times and kept getting unexpected error... Hit the Apple Store and went for the Extreme. Funny thing, it had the same unexpected error when I tried the set-up. My McAfee popped up with something about the firewall. So I went in and opened up the traffic in McAfee and tried again and that may have been the problem with my Express. When I have some time I may try to get my Express going to see if it still works and put it on Craigslist....? I hated to spend the $$ for the Exteme, but the ablilty to have the A/C technology (speed), add a USB drive, and more Ethernet ports is worth it. Still having troublr with MacBook Air connecting to the iMac, but the iMac connects to the Air...? All selections are ticked in the sharing, still no workie. Any ideas? Mike.
