iTunes duplicating/adding unticked songs to iPhone when syncing

I just updated my iphone and when I tried to sync my iphone to add new songs from my itunes library, itunes duplicated and added unticked songs to my phone. No matter how many times I delete them from my phone they still go back on if I sync again. Can anyone give me a solution as to why??
