Is there anything I can safely download in order to record video from youtube?

I've downloaded from the web "macx youtube downloader" and it's working fine with me
Is this a free app? I saw another message that indicated something called tube sock??
I need to download videos and then record on DVD. What are your thoughts?
Youtube downloader is free. Works very well.
Then you would need something like Toast to burn the video to a DVD. Toast is not free but is very effective. Depending on the features you want, there may be some freeware alternatives to Toast, but there is nothing that really compares to it. You could look on macupdate for Toast alternatives.
