My screen went black but still rings

Hi;

I have the same problem and the same Iphone (6s) and when i get a call the phone is ringing and vibrating but the screen is black so i cant answer it. Also sometimes i cant wake up the phone i mean the buttons cant open the menu.. did u solve this problem?

I would be concerned too if my iPhone screen remained dark when the phone was on. I recommend the following steps for the issue you described:

Display has no backlight or dark screen

1. Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
2. Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
3. While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
4. If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

Sounds like a hardware issue with the proximity sensor.

Take your iPhone to an Apple store or other Apple authorized service location to have this issue diagnosed.

I have an iPhone 6s running on iOS 10.2. I am facing the same issue. Sometimes My phone screen remain black while it is ringing unless I pick up the phone or move it or shake it. If I keep it as ringing then it will be remain black. This problem is pretty much annoying for me as I missed a lot of calls because of this issue.

I have reset my phone several times even I reset it in recovery mode. But nothing is woking.

Please help. This problem is a very critical issue.

Is it a hardware issue?
