My ipod (5th generation with iSO7) was stolen about a month ago but the person who has stolen it made contact with me on facebook saying they will give it back if i remove the device from my icloud -does this mean they will be able to unlock it?
(i have already activated lost mode, involved the police and contacted facebook and i dont know what to do) PLEASE HELP

They are having a laugh. The thief can do nothing at all with the iPad without you removing the device from your iCloud. If you do as they ask, they will have full unrestricted use of the device, and certainly will not give it back!
Do not remove it from iCloud. Give the police the Facebook profile of the person who contacted you so you can get your iPod back.
