I installed Aperature 1.0 onto my Mac with no problem. Then I went to upgrade up to 3.0. When install ask for the 1.0 serial number, it said that the 1.0 serial number was invalid. What's going on?

Just by putting it in to my super drive. and going thru the steps.
Try the steps in the link I supplied. If that fails to work you will need to contact Apple see Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers
I did those steps and it didn't work. Thanks for you help. I'll contact Apple tomorrow.
You checked for letters that can easily be confused, as described in the document Frak Caggiano linked to, right?
When you entered the Aperture 1 serial number, did you type it using the numerical keypad? Entering the serial number must be done using the main section of the keyboard for some reason.
