how to print in black and white with canon printer (MG6100) from macair

I am IT naive, so would appreciate any help on how to print greyscale from 11" mac air to canon MG64100 printer? thanks

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

If the printer was created using Apple's AirPrint driver, then when you select to print you will see a B&W setting in the print dialog as shown below.

If the MG61xx printer was created using the Canon driver, then you will need to change to the Quality & Media menu and select Grayscale as shown below.

Note that to see this menu, you will have to select Show Details in the Apple print dialog.
