I tried the link you posted but got a message saying I needed to upgrade to the latest version of itune to listen to the radio service.

I think Apple just cut me off completely with no work around or fix unless I buy a new computer with the latest and greatest software. This is just a radio tuning service, how hard can it be to keep it working on older models?

The link BDAqua provided is for iTunes Radio, as opposed to what Apple now calls Internet streaming which used to be known as radio on iTunes (Apple is very unimaginative in naming and loves to call different things by the same name as time passes). Anyway, the iTunes forum has numerous posts about this but as far as I can tell they seem to be from people using pre-iTunes 11 versions. I would not put it beyond Apple to have simply focussed on support for the newest iTunes -- after all, shouldn't you always be running the newest and "best"-- and in doing so broke something for the older versions of iTunes. I recall something similar happening a few years back when the weather widgets stopped working in Tiger and Leopard, but a month later (again all without notice) it started working again. We have absolutely no idea if internet streams will start working again.

If you are running an older computer this probably isn't the first time you have encountered something like this, and it will just get worse. Learn to do workarounds. You can usually get stream URLs for streaming stations with a web search. Open these in iTune's network menu item then save the stream to a playlist and make your own list of radio stations.
