Safari is not working!

I'm currently using a macbook pro. Running OS X version 10.9.2. Safari Version 7.0.3 (9537.75.14)

Safari has been working fine for me since I updated it a couple weeks ago. Today I came home from work and all of a sudden I go to open safari and it is not working. It will not load any webpage. Doesnt even seem to be attempting to load a web page.

Can somebody please help me fix this issue?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Double-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

www.google.com

Launch the Network Utility application.

Step 1

Select the Lookup tab and paste into the address field (command-V). Press return. Post the output that appears below – the text, please, not a screenshot.

Step 2

Select the Ping tab and do the same. Please enter the same input as you did in Step 1. Don't use the output of Step 1 as input to Step 2.

Important Note

Some web browsers and mail clients will automatically convert a domain name such as "www.example.com" to a clickable URL, such as http://www.example.com. That will interfere with the test. If necessary, edit the input in the Network Utility window to remove any added characters.

I'm at my college when I found Safari to be having problems; and I dont know if this has anything to do with anything at all but I just put in a nice SSD as my boot drive for my macbook pro. I used Carbon Copy Cloner app to clone most of my OS to my SSD. I dont think it would have much to do with that but I dont know...

If you can help that would be amazing since I use Safari for most of my web browsing.

I recently had the same problem. An Apple tech walked me through all the usual troubleshooting steps including reinstalling the system. Still no help. But, going back through the release notes on Safari 8.0.6, I saw it was largely a security release. I finally found a solution that worked for me, maybe it will work for you. I opened SYSTEM PREFERENCES / SECURITY & PRIVACY and turned on FIREWALL. Never had to use this feature before, but as soon as I turned it on, Safari worked.

Good luck.
