I just tried to sync my ipod with my windows 8 computer but itunes does not show the ipod.

I have a new laptop with Windows 8 on it, which I hate btw, but have been unable to get it to show my ipod when I connect it to the laptop. I have installed I-tunes and want the music I have on my Ipod to sync with my new laptop. I'd like to get music from one onto the other and vice versa. Please Help! I've been trying this for 2 days now 😟
