When I open a document, make changes but then want to discard those changes, how can I stop Pages automatically saving those changes when I exit the application?
This is very annoying when I use a previous version of a weekly document as a sort of 'template' for the next one and have forgotten to 'duplicate' it first before making the changes

I know exactly how you feel. Apple is basically telling you to know what you are going to do before you do it, which is not the way people work.
You are now forced to anticipate by making a Copy to work off just so you can throw it away if need be.
Tell Apple via feedback as well as rate/review Pages in the App Store.
