Exporting 2k video from Final Cut Pro X..

Hello, am not new at this and know fairly what I'm doing wtih most things.

But recentely I started at 2k. I do not want to down convert the 2k to 180p on export, I want it to say 2k. Now if I click share and "default" file. This works fine, but the video's end up being around 300GB.

Is there anyway I can export a 2k video, 1440, and put it on youtube. I see other people on youtube have 1440 video's.

The only options it gives me is 1080p although it says it's a 2k video when I'm exporting it but it down convertes to 1080p.

Another thing is, the compressor, has no 1080p anymore that I can find. I look and all I see is 720p, not 1080p, and much less 2k.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't bother with 1440; it is a 1080 anamorphiic format used by cameras to save space; It doesn't use square shaped pixels, which is what you want.

You can export an h.264 master file and it will be much smaller than 300GB. It can be 2K, 1080, 720, etc. It's up to you to select in Settings in the dialog. Then use the YT uploader.

I realize this. But I do 4k and 2k. It has no option to share it and compress it. It only has the option to share the original master file, which is 100's of GB's.

So I was going to go into compressor and compress it down, but now compresser doesn't even show 1080p on it, it only shows 720p, it showed 1080p before.

The 2k master file was 350GB to be exact. And there are no compression settings for getting a 2k file that isn't that big.
