my apple password works with Mac pro but does not work with iPad

My Apple password works with the MAC Pro but is not recognized by my iPad.

iPad, iOS 7.1

I should add that this is obviously a common problem and Apple is losing money when customers are unable to make purchases in the Apple Store. I don't understand why this longstanding problem for Apple as well as for customers has not been addressed.

What do you mean not recognized? Do you get an error message? And incorrect password message? Have you tried signing out and signing back in again? Or have you tried downloading something on the Mac to authenticate the account again and then try again on the iPad?

Why don't you explain in a little more detail?
