iTunes to iPhone Castatrophe ..

I've changed plenty of the names/etc on my itunes after downloading music from a third party, although it remains changed on my itunes it will not transfer the new info to my portable device instead uses the org info. Is there a way to get transfer the new info ? I've spend countless hours renaming & trying to get around this .. PLEASE HELP !!!
