Remote host did not accept data file (32)

I'm on Mac OS 10.9.2 printing to a Ricoh MP C6502 with an E-22B controller.

Whenever I print, most of the time, they go through, but often, I'll get a message saying "Remote host did not accept data file (32)". This happens with some multiple-page files in Excel, Keynote, InDesign, etc., I haven't seen a pattern in terms of file size or number of pages, or application. Sometimes files from those apps print fine.

I've already reset the printing system, but that didn't fix it.

Any other recommendations?

I encountered this problem on a MBP running Mountain Lion connecting via Bonjour to an HP LaserJet 4250. Tried many things (deleting and adding back printers, changing to a static IP address, trying a different user account) before noticing that it was printing fine when connected to wireless. I deleted the wireless interface in System Preferences > Network and it began printing again.
