If you can't get it to boot and you are running Snow Leopard, I'd only have two different suggestions - the first will wipe your drive, so hopefully you have a backup!

First, get out your install disks. Insert it and then restart or reboot with the C key held down. That should boot the computer from the install disk. (Second method if the first one is not successful: insert disk, shut down, boot with Power button and press the Option key until you see the "startup" manager - then choose your install disk). Once booted, go past the language selection and then stop and choose the Disk Utilities up in the menu bar. Choose to erase your drive and then reinstall the OS.

Second (if it doesn't work or if you don't want to mess with # 1), take your machine to the nearest Genius Bar and let them help you.

Try the suggestions mentioned in KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570. Some of them you have already tried. Do them again anyways.

If none of the suggestions work, you will have no alternative but to take your iMac to your local AS or an AASP. Diagnostic testing is FREE!

Another alternative is to purchase another iMac if you have an "old" iMac. Which model do you have? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1758How to identify iMac models
