Pairing Apple TV with new remote

So, one of my friends accidentally dropped my remote into a glass of water, and it now doesn't work.

I got a new remote, but this one doesn't work either :(

From what I've found of information, it sounds like I have to unpair my original remote with the Apple TV.

Only, the remote doesn't work, so I can't do that!

What do I do now?? I'm desperate! :(
