Why is my 32 GB itouch saying there isn't enough space when there is

I've been trying all day to finally simplfy our computers to one main hub for our 2 ipads, 1 itouch and 1 iphone.... Now, when I go to sync the itouch 4th generation and ipad first generation it's telling me that their content is upwards of 10GB OVER their limit! Which is impossible. Plus, the bar on the bottom that breaks down your usage on your device does not say that I'm over the limit. So what gives??

Our home computer is a MAC with updated systems. Itunes does have home sharing from another computer and all devices are under one account.

Is that the issue?? Is it triple syncing? And if so, how do I fix that?!

Thank you!

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 7.1

Try syncing less media to the iPod.

Try using the manual method to sync

Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

If you changed syncing computer y first have to backup the iPod to the new computer and then restore from that backup since you can only sync with one computer.

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music
