issue with macbook pro & led cinema screen switching displays not working

Rpblem with switching screens between led Cinema display and Macbook pro - have used it with no issues since 2009 and now the cinema dipslay will only operate when teh laptop lid is open and goes blank when closed - can anyone help?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)

I have find the solution, or my husband did.... I have to have the bluetooth on for the led cinema display to work with the lid of the macbook pro closed. x
