my nieces ipod touch 5 16gb that she got 98 days ago fell and the screen is broken/cracked. Only 3 months old and i read alot of stuff online saying they wont or cant be fixed? I dont know what to do. Could someone please tell me exactly what to do, who to call or where to go. 😕-totally confused

Unless you purchased the options AppleCare+ extended warranty, Apple will exchange your 16 GB 5G iPod for a refurbished one for $99. They do not fix yours.

Ok, it says there is an apple store like 5 miles from me! Can I just go in with the ipod, and they take it and transfer all the stuff right then, or is it a long process? Do the refurbs look brand new? Can i get applecare on it? And thanks for answering so fast and explaining it to me!
- I would backup the iPod at home first. If you have non-iTunes purchases on the iPod like from CDs Apple will not transfer them.
- You should make an appointment, otherwise you will hae to likely have to wait.
- The refurbs look new, that have a new back and battery in addition to other parts that required replacement.
- I do not know if you can get AppleCare+ on teh replacment iPod. You wil have to ask

Also, if your iPod was purchased with a credit card, check with the card company. Some cards provide Purchase Protection insurance which will replace or repair any item lost, stolen or damaged within 120 days of purchase.
