Macbook Air is not charging after update

Hi,

so i decided to update my mid 2012 Macbook air to the latest 10.9.2 OSX Mavericks update and the SMC Firmware 1.9

i clicked update and went to sleep so all will be done in the morning. I woke up and the computer was in stand by and when i turned it on it was still stuck in the update process but the blue bar was showing no progress and the computer was not responsive. I had no choice but to force the shutdown using the power button and turn it on again. it switched back on with no problem, and there was still an update alert so i decided to give it another try, but this time it worked.

after the update was complete i noticed that the my battery was not charging it 68% charge at the time, the charger had the orange light on, and the battery icon had that small picture of a power plug (the one you see when the battery is full) and as i click it says "Battery is not charging, Power source: Power adapter" i left it alone for a while and then i noticed that it is charging but extremely slowly now after a WEEK the battery level is 94% as i didnt remove it from the charger since then.

after doing some research i learned that performing an SMC reset could solve the issue, but it didnt, the problem still exists. and i dont think that it is a power adapter issue as it still powers my MBA even though it is not charging

so any of you guys had the same issue or know a solution to the problem ?

Ok, that looks like the correct charger from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2346 and the charger is recognized and connected.

The battery looks healthy, Normal is the condition you always want to see. And the cycle count is fine, capacity looks ok, and the voltage is ok for a MacBook Air.

For some reason the charging circuitry does not seem to want to allow the battery to charge. I would take the MBA to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians run their diagnostics to see what is going on with the charging circuit itself. It seems to be willing to power the system but not charge the battery.
