can't see clip info

I recently bought a new mac mini and loaded video clips from a Nikon D90 into both iPhoto and iMovie 10.0.2.

I can't find in iMovie how to see clip info.

I am trying to determine whether iPhoto and iMovie imported the clips in the same format.

Thanks.

There is no way, that I am aware of, in iMovie to see the metadata for a clip in an event. You can share the clip and open it in QT player and see the shared format, encoder etc, but that is for the shared clip and not the original. There is a way to do this in finder by going to iMovie Library, which is in your movies folder, control click on it and select show package contents, Then find original media folder. Locate the clip of interest and open it in QT. Once it opens do command i and you will see the clip properties. Be very careful not to move or edit anything in the package contents as it will corrupt your Library.

I have no doubt that you are giving me correct info.

I loaded the video clips into both iMovie and iPhoto. In iPhoto selecting View>Info provides info such as, 1280X720, 161MB, MJPEG, 24 fps and 1:09 minutes.

It seems strange that I don't see similar info in iMovie.

If I export video clips from iPhoto into iMovie will the result be the same as video clips loaded directly into iMovie.

Thanks.
