I've got an IBook G4 laptop acting as a print server to share a printer over my home wifi LAN. I want to print to it from an iPad; is there any software compatible with 10.4 that will allow Airplay or whatever it's called that prints from iPads?
Hi, I think 10.4 is out of the question, unless somehow File Sharing in iTunes works for it.
Maybe you can eMail it to your iBook?
I wouldn't go that far.
I've heard that latest version of the CUPS software, which is what Apples uses to drive printers, includes Airprint support. Download, compile, install. I thought about it but never tried.

Thanks! I just installed it and it says it's serving on port 8080 but my iPad is not seeing the shared printer. Any idea what else needs to be done?
The standard advice is to power off all your devices. Leave them off for 30 seconds then power everything on.
