iMovie crashed, file lost, yet still shows up numerically?! WTF lol

I have the same problem. I had edited for a total of 26 hours until my iMovie was 99% done. I imported a photo and not only did iMovie crash unexpectedly, but the entire computer shut off (I was at 100% battery and plugged in). The computer restarted and the 40 minutes of video I edited were gone. However, iMovie projects says I still have 4 projects, but only three are showing. I've searched all over my computer, done "show invisble file" searches, checked every folder I have, and I still can't find it.

Anyone think they can solve this problem? Would I have to take my hard drive to a specialist?

Same here. I want to jump off my balcony and throw my mac in the garbage. There is got to be a way to recover the files. I actually went inside iMovie Library (Show Package Content) and I can see a file with the name I gave my movie when I started but the file is like a preference file or something like that because it opens in text app.

I was 99% done as well and this occurred when I imported an image logo to mark the end of my movie.

This is so infuriating.
